A Wied's Life

One of the best movies I have ever seen in my life, simply outstanding. I highly recommend you go see it in theaters and make sure it is 3D and IMAX. I felt like I was in space the whole time, the attention to detail was exquisite, and Bullock and Clooney were stunning. You may think I’m over reacting, but…it was just that good.

Don’t know who’s seen this movie yet, but I thought it was fantastic! Great plot, the villain is very creepy and in the end it’s not exactly the Wolverine that saves the day! Excellent fighting and action scenes. Only bad part is that Marvel kind of messes up by having his claws destroyed, even though this takes place before the other x-men movies…….yeah. still trying to figure that out…..

“Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear—kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor—with the cry of grave national emergency. Always there has been some terrible evil at home or some monstrous foreign power that was going to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it by furnishing the exorbitant funds demanded. Yet, in retrospect, these disasters seem never to have happened, seem never to have been quite real.” — General Douglas McArthur, General MacArthur Speeches and Reports 1908-1964 (via demons)

$77M of sunken treasure from WWII found at the bottom of Atlantic -

Tampa, Fla.-based Odyssey Marine Exploration led the quest to find the underwater treasure, which sank in 1941 when the SS Gairsoppa — a British steamship that was secretly carrying silver from India to Great Britain to fund the war effort — was hit by a German U-boat torpedo.

Currently being held in a secret location in England, the valuable haul — paired with the group’s previous recovery of 48 tons of bricks of silver last year — is the largest precious metal recovery in history: It’s worth an estimated $77 million.

Simply an amazing book and looking forward to watching the movie with Harrison Ford. I doubt it will match up to the book but oh well. It’s a must read and the last 120 pages simply fly by! I was addicted! Jack Ryan is the man! (If you want to know what the book is about, just go to Wikipedia, I’m to lazy right now
